The Ghana Youth Federation (GYF) has taken another decisive step toward full operationalization with the successful completion of a three-day strategic retreat in Accra. The session focused exclusively on developing three foundational instruments — the National Strategic Action Plan (NSAP), 2025–2026 Work Plan, and a Stakeholder Engagement and Partnership Strategy.
The retreat, convened under the coordination of the National Youth Authority (NYA), brought together a dynamic mix of local and international partners committed to strengthening youth participation in governance and development.
Key participants included the Country Director of UNFPA Ghana, the Head of the Youth Division at the European Union, the Secretary-General of the Pan-African Youth Union, senior officials and technical staff of the NYA. They were joined by members of the GYF Interim Leadership and representatives of national youth organizations and networks.
Throughout the sessions, participants mapped strategic actions to guide how the GYF will coordinate youth representation across the 16 regions, foster stronger institutional partnerships, and mobilize resources to deliver tangible results for young people.
According to the Acting President of the Ghana Youth Federation, Mr. Sherif Ghali, the retreat “marks a defining moment in building a credible and action-driven national youth institution that reflects the voices, aspirations, and leadership of Ghanaian youth.”
The outcomes from the retreat will directly inform the Federation’s first operational year, providing a structured roadmap for collaboration with government, development partners, and youth groups nationwide.
The event reaffirms Ghana’s growing commitment to unifying youth action under a single, representative platform — one that speaks with a common voice for all young Ghanaians.
